A Different Way to Remember Species for Plant and Animal Identification

Wildlife Management - Species of any plant or animal is hard for students to absorb on a good day, so you might as well make it as interesting as you can. Colquitt County FFA created sets of Fish ID cards to use when playing what else?....Go fish. Don't let this be a one time activity.

The main point of this activity is for your students to learn the species from making the cards and THEN reinforcing the knowledge by playing go fish. Sure the set in the picture looks great, but we both know that some of your students won't have cards that look this great. So classes can continue to make the cards each year and you ask to keep the sets that you like best. And in some instances you will have a student that is extra creative and makes a set that is like no other, so keep making the sets and letting them play Go Fish, Go Plant, Go Mammal, or even Go Bird.

Another great activity is Build Your Own Deer Antlers and we are certain your students are creative enough to make this activity happen while you sneak in a little knowledge. For some deeper understanding click over to these Wildlife Activities and see which one will help reinforce your lessons.

That mountain you've been carrying
That mountain you've been carrying

Recently (especially since that Year-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named), I feel that it has gotten worse.

Now I see so many Ag teachers not just struggling to climb that mountain

But trying to carry it.

And many of y’all are starting to break under the load.

This is your permission to set it down.
