🎤 CDE Spotlight: Creed Speaking
Creed Speaking is the FFA's entry point for its youngest members, and the skills it builds reach well past the contest room. This CDE Spotlight introduces students to the event and gives them a simulated question round before they ever compete.
Students will explore Creed Speaking through:
- What the contest involves, including a four minute recitation from memory and three unprepared questions
- How the 100 point rubric divides across oral communication, non-verbal communication, and question and answer
- The history of the FFA Creed, the theme of each of its five paragraphs, and the phrases judges ask about most
- A practice annotation with a full answer key, plus a simulated question round scored by the teacher
- The Spanish Creed contest, an option for Spanish speaking members competing in their own language
A great tie-in for: FFA recruitment, public speaking, leadership development, and CTE career exploration.
These work as an introduction to contest season, an FFA Week activity, or a substitute lesson that still teaches something real. Students who would never sign up for a CDE cold will often try one after they have seen what it actually asks of them.

- Contest Overview: what the event is, who it is for, and the scholarships, college programs, and careers it feeds
- Contest Format: how the event is run, what each component involves, and how it is scored
- Background Knowledge and Vocabulary: the core content students need as a reference page, plus vocabulary terms with example sentences
- Practice with Answer Key: a worked example students attempt first, then check against a full key
- Simulated Contest: a scaled-down version of the event that doubles as the assessment
- Teacher Answer Keys: model answers, grading guidance, and a knowledge check key
Our shipping is based on total order amount. Shipping will be automatically calculated when shopping online. (There is no shipping charged on digital download products. I mean who would do that really?)
We ship by UPS. You will receive a tracking number when your order ships.
If you are completing a School Purchase Order or if you just want to estimate your total expenses use the following information:
- For order totals $100 and under ---- add $15
- For order totals $101 to $340 ---- add $20
- Order totals over $350 ---- add $30
- Make sure to provide a physical address...UPS will NOT deliver to a Post Office box. We tried. Then we received a firm talking to and we had to go to bed without dinner. Please don't make us try that again.
